Go with the 569-S since it is the correct replacement for your car, and it also has the correct throttle shaft as well. laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh

If you have old Chevrolets, other old Chevrolets will find out where you live.

THE GREAT CARB SEARCH UPDATE;

GOT A W-1 FROM EBAY FOR $5.00, SELLER DIDN'T KNOW WHAT IT WAS, THE ONE PHOTO ON EBAY WAS FUZZY AND A LONG DISTANCE SHOT. HERE ARE THE FACTS ON THIS CARB, SO YOU GUYS CAN TELL ME WHAT YEARS IT WAS MADE FOR. ALL OF THE PARTS ARE FREE AND MOVE NOT RUSTY, JUST HAS A LOT OF DUST, ONLY THING MISSING IS THE SCREW THAT USE TO HOLD DOWN THE BRASS TAG.

1. NO DOG LEG, STRAIGHT.
2. NO METAL TAG UNDER SCREW
3. ON THE TOP OF THE FLOAT BOWL (?) ARE THE NUMBERS 146-114
4. ON THE BOTTOM OF THE BASE IS THE LETTER "F" ON ONE SIDE AND THE NUMBERS "421" ON THE OTHER SIDE.
5. HAS THE NORMAL "CARTER", "W-1", "C" ON THE CARB.

KICKER QUESTION-- THERE IS A SMALL CRACK AT THE BASE NEAR SCREW AREA, CAN THIS BE WELDED OR SOLDERED? THANKS.

You have a 569-S carb. On the crack at the base near the "screw area"...define "screw area". Do you mean the air/fuel adjusting screw or the hole in the base where the carb. mounts to the manifold riser via the threaded stud? :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:

JYD, ON THE VERY BOTTOM, WHERE IT MOUNTS TO THE MANIFOLD. LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE (MAYBE) TOOK OUT ONE OF THE BOLTS AND PRIED UP (?) OR PUSHED ON THE CARB WHICH CRACKED NEAR THE BASE BECAUSE THE OTHER BOLT WAS STILL TIGHT. HOPE I EXPLAINED IT OK.

I GOT A "GO ONLY NOT FOR SHOW" 569S FROM DOYLE, REAL NICE GUY, THAT I COULD KEEP IN RESERVE (REMEMBER MURPHY'S LAW #3 "ANY PART THAT YOU HAVE A SPARE FOR WILL NOT BREAK, ONLY PARTS THAT YOU DON'T HAVE SPARES FOR BREAK"). WOULD LIKE TO MAYBE MAKE THIS MY 569S FOR SHOW AND GO.

How to do it??? Take it to an experienced welder that welds cast iron. By the way, I did get your email that you were asking me about, so your computer is still working fine. Did you get my return email? :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:
