The question I have is about the Deluxe ("butterfly") steering wheel for a 1952 Deluxe Sedan. I always thought that the wheel color was bone/ivory and that the horn cap was the gold one. I was recently told that the color "bone/ivory" was only correct for hardtops & convertibles and that the correct color for sedans was light "greengray". I was also informed that the correct cap color for 1952 was silver. Does it make a difference? Were there actually seperate deluxe steering wheel colors for body styles? I would like to be correct before I have one recast. Thanks

The 1951-52 "butterfly" wheel is ivory. It matched the shift knob and dash knobs in 1951. The was only one color for all models, the convertible, hardtop and sedans all used part #986545. The 1950 had the gold rounded (dome shape) button. The 1951-52 has the button(cap) with theblack outer ridge that sticks out more with a recess in the center...the is a gold eagle and bow tie in the center. I can send you a "fair" picture in black and white.
