I was reading the "56 engine into a 53 sedan" thread and I had a mental spasm. Does using the mount at the front of the engine and at the tranny compromise the ability to hop up the engine? The outboard mounts at the center of the motor's side should resist engine torque better than the mounts along the longitudinal axis. What is the experience with mildly modified 235's using the front/tranny mounts?

No expert on the chnge over but from what I read the bell housing and rear mounts from the older engine are necessary to stablize rotation caused by torque. Comments have been made that finding the hard parts for the older mounts is very difficult. talk
