I have a 2 piece weatherstrip kit, bought several years ago, had health problems, and car sat unfinished.Now, I don't have any instructions and dont remember if weatherstrip goes on trunk lid or on the body. Believe it goes on the body, but don't trust my memory that much.
Do any of you fine folks have an literature or advice? The shorter piece seems to fit across the top of the trunk, and the longer piece seems to fit from the lower center of trunk and go up each side to meet the shorter piece.

Hi Don, The long one goes on the upper end, and the short one goes to the lower end. I can't get to my 54 right now, but my best guess is that it goes on the body and not on the lid.

I can't speak to where the longer one and shorter one goes. (Frankly I thought "it" was all one piece.) But, I DO KNOW (as Ray suggested) they go on the body; not the trunk lid.

The gutter or short piece goes on the body. The long piece goes on the lid.The body part goes on the top.
