I was looking for a part number for a 1933 Master Rear Axle Seal? Also is there anyone that rebuilds the Vacuum Advance units for a 33 Master or are they available from a parts supplier?

The 1933 Master rear axle seals also fit 1/2 ton trucks from 1933-1959. Any parts house could order them for you. Also available from ....www.fillingstation.com......and they have a vac. advance rebuilding service also (and an on-line catalog).

How mutch vaccum does it take to opperate a distributor vaccum (measure) I bought one nos( sealed in the org box) from Bruce in Virigina and it works some. It moves about 1/4 inch when you rev the engine. Being 70 + years old it may be stiff. May be I should have that one rebuilt! Thanks.

The older shop manuals don't give a figure for the advance operation. The 1949 is the first. Here is what it says.
Advance begins with 7" of vacuum. At 20" its fully advanced - which is 18 to 22 degress advanced for that engine.
Each advance has a slightly different amount of "advancement' ...depending on engine requirements.
If the advance you have holds vacuum it should work OK but as you mentioned the diaphragm may be a little stiff.

Actually, there are specifications for the older vacuum advances, and your diaphragm is not stiff because your vacuum advance is working exactly like it should. yay

Here are the specifications for the vacuum advance for your application:

Inches of HG. to start movement of plunger = 4 Minutes.
Inches of HG for full plunger travel = 12.5
Total plunger travel = 1/4"
Nominal maximum advance, engine degrees = 12

wink :)

Thanks for the leads. I just called the filling station and they only rebuild 1934 and later Vacuum advance units. Do you have any idea what the difference is.
Thanks

If you take a look in the "parts for sale" in your G&D, find an ad by Bill Denman, contact him and see if he is still doing the vacuum advances.
