I'm working on a 1950 216 and purchased several replacement gaskets. Some of the gaskets, like the intake/exhaust to head gasket and the gasket between the intake manifold and the exhaust heat riser, have metal on one side and composite fiber on the other side. Didn't pay attention when I took them off, so which way does the metal side face when being installed?

Intake and exhaust gaskets that have metal on one side, are placed with the metal part facing out. This will allow the two manifolds to expand and contract without damaging the gasket.
