I just can't believe this guy would do what he says he's going to do. Take a look! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cars...140251914587&_trksid=p3756.m14.l1318

Yep....the seller is just another typical eBay "Moron". There are thousands of them on eBay! :o

The other side of the coin is the fact that most hot rodders sell the unwanted items fairly cheap and then some of us get to use them on restoring another vehicle. A past G&D featured two 32's on the back page one having the running gear from a hot rod project. So now we have a nice looking 32 hot rod sedan and a georgeous 32 Cabriolet on the road.In my book thats a gain and not a loss.Unfortunately too many purist feel there is no limit to the value of some of the older parts and thus they are out of reach of the average restorer enthusiasist.

Actually, with all things considered, humans are probably the dumbest animals on the planet. :o :(

We read what he might be doing, but we don't know if he will do it: Rod the car, which certainly is a beauty. May be he want a really good price in the next days to come. Why suddenly rush, after several years? If you don't want to meet the reserve price and buy/rescue that car, then there is little to worry about. But I agree; it would be much nicer if it remained as is.

There is also the posibility that he's full of it so he can get the reserve price.
My guess is that he's looking for $20K, but he's a fool if he doesn't take the $18,000.
Hey JYD, this looks like a Special Sedan, correct? Unless there is a major mechanical problem, $18,000 for this car is not out of line. ????

Well the bidding has ended at $20,100.00 and it didn't meet his reserve.

Sounds bogus to me. Sort of like, "Please, adopt this adorable little beagle puppy! He's so cute! He's house trained! He's everything you could ever want in a puppy! If you don't take him by tomorrow night at 10, I'm going to have to kill him, then you'll feel guilty!"

We may not know the reserve price but if the seller has read some Chatter past post he now knows what a good paint job is worth and how much you can get into an engine overhaul. Not to mention that runningboard mats and trim plus the floor mat are real hard to come by.And don't forget the tires that don't fit the wheel wells. While few of us would want to spend 20 g's on a 32 restoration most will admit its almost impossible to do one for less.It might be a tough sell to tell someone it can cost 30-40 thousand or more for a good restoration but you should take 18 and be happy and don't be foolish and hot rod it because you might end up with a pocket full of cash.Like it or not its his car until someone puts up enough cash to call it theirs.
