Hi Guys,
This is hard to describe, but was the grill "background" painted or was the whole thing left chrome. It seems to me the inner most portion of the grill looks dark in photos I've seen. A dark background would make the outer verticle chrome bars look brighter. I just had mine rechromed and I want it to be correct. Thanks!

Hello Jim,

You are right, the background (cross bars) and sides of the vertical bars are black. The top edge of the vertical bars is the only place where your $400 of chrome shows. :(
