I am in the process of rebuilding my 194 engine and would like to replace the valve springs since two of them are broke. I have a set of new springs that are the same height and diameter but are a little stronger even after considering new springs to old. I don't know what they were originally for. Will that cause a problem since they will be all the same. Any help would be appreciated.

"A little stronger" may not harm anything. Each time the valves are ground the seats get ground deeper into the head. The correct way is to add shims under the springs to maintain valve spring tension as the stem keeps getting farther away from the seat.
The only harm too much tension could cause it too much pressure between the cam lobe and the bottom of the lifter.
The ideal way to go is to determine the pressure of the original springs and the springs you have.

I found some new Thompson Products valve springs still in their original boxes with some of my 31 Chevy stuff. Does anyone know the part number of the ones that fit a 1931 Chevrolet 194 CID. Several of the boxes have different part numbers on them. Thanks
