While looking for an Alemite grease gun for my 32 I came across an Alemite model 4007A which looks as though it is for a truck kit. Can anyone tell me where I can find out if it belongs to any particular vehicle?
Secondly, the model for the 29-32 has it an Alemite part no?

The correct grease gun is not actually a grease gun even if Chevrolet literature calls it one. It is a "Junior Compressor Model C-1033". Alemite literature cautions "Do Not Use Grease" on the cover of the folded instructions supplied with each new "Compressor".

I think that "Do Not Use Grease" means to use heavy oil. In modern terms, what weight of heavy oil do I look for when I'm in the store?

The original oil was 600W and it is available from the Filling Station in Lebanon, Oregon. The modern equivalent is 160W.

wink :)

Actually the modern number is SAE 160 or old number 600. Likely you will only find 140 or 85W-140 on the shelves. Will need to order the 160. Actually for suspension parts grease is ok but NOT for transmission, u-joint, steering box that require a flowable lubricant. Some have mixed chassis grease with 85W-140 oil to a very thick flowable consistancy and used it will reported success.
