Can anyone give me a quick I.D. of this plate?

Style: 38-1217
Body: J4 7 81
Trim: 69
Paint: 231

I know it's a '38 coupe of some kind, but there's very little else left stock, and the car's history is nebullous.

(If you're a complete purist, turn back now.)
I know it was campaigned as a dirt-track racer for about 10 years in the middle '50s and '60s. It was fairly successful at least locally, and ran nearly exclusively with highly-modified Stovebolts. There are no fenders, the hood is just the top with now sides, the interior is completely stripped except the dash. The frame has been beefed and a roll cage welded in. The running gear is likely the best they could put together in about 1960. I believe it is way too far gone, both in mods/dings and in cancers to be resurrected as a stock passenger vehicle, but we'd like to return it to its racing incarnation.

1217 is a Master business coupe, the lower priced series
J=body assembled in Janesville, number is production sequence number
TRim number refers to interior....brown mohair, no other choices
231 is the exterior color-black
