Not sure just what you mean my restored. I had a speedometer cleaned, lubricated and recalibrated by a local speedometer shop for around $50.00

If you only need to resurface it, Jim Carter makes decals for the face and odometer drum that will make it look like new. You will want to lubricate it when you have it apart. Richard

I think that "jon-l" has a 1948 passenger car and Jim Carter's catalog indicates that he has the new gauge faces for trucks only. The Filling Station has the speedometer and gauges decal set for a 1948 passenger car. :)

JYD- You are quite correct. I didn't even notice that we were discussing a car. I must have trucks on the brain. Richard

That's the way Billy Boy Barker has it set up. The icon has been appearing for several years. I think it's cool. Anyway, if you type "Junkyard Dog" it won't appear. The icon only shows up when you type "J Y D".

yep.. and there's a couple of other ones that work that way too.... Try "t f s" -- without the spaces. Or "bb 31" -- without spaces Or "chev 40" -- also without spaces. Too much time on my hands....

When you look at the odometer from the rear you will see a brass V shaped clip on one end. Remove the clip (from solid end) with a needle nose and the odometer will slide over to one side and then can be removed.

The needle can be pulled off. Some times they come off easy and some times hard.
