I have a 1930 Chevrolet 1 1/2-ton truck and am getting ready to mount the spare tire under the bed. The tire rests on two hangers made of channel steel. Four heavy bolts connect the hangers to the frame. Does anyone know if all four were held on with wing nuts, or just the back two? Are those heavy wing nuts available anywhere? I have three.

I have a '31 and the only hanger on it is the front one by the differential and it is bolted on. I guess I need to look for a hanger to put on the back.

The front (by differential) is bolted directly to the frame. The back on uses large carriage bolts that go through the ears that are riveted on the back of the rear frame member. The shallow u-shaped channel is held on (and adjusted) with two large wing-nuts.
How Sweet the roar of a Chevy four!

Mike -- Thanks for the offer, but it sounds like I need only two wing nuts, and I have three. I appreciate your help, Chipper.
