I'm trying to remove the radiator, grille and cowling as a unit from my 36FB, but I can't tell the correct sequence to disconnect the cowling assembly from the valence and fenders. I've removed the headlamps, and have unbolted the wishbone and the 2 bolts which secure the assembly to the frame, but I can't figure out the bottom end removal.

Can someone please give me a clue, 'cause it's obvious I don't have one!

You can remove the radiator shell and leave the "valance" still attached to the fenders or sometimes it is easier to remove the "valance" from the fenders. It is easier to do it as the latter on the 34& 35's, the 36 is very similar. You also have to pull the headlamp wires back through the shell as it stays with the truck.


34 & 35 trucks are the greatest. 36 high cabs are OK too.

Thanks for the input. I finally got it loose and off the truck, but had to remove the valence. Lots of screws and nuts when nothing's welded! When I put it back together I'll try to install the valance to the fenders first.

The factory installed the valance first during assembly; they didn't have to deal with corroded fasteners or with the captured nuts with broken cages.


34 & 35 trucks are the greatest. 36 high cabs are OK too.
