Can someone please supply, or tell me where I can obtain, a photo of the correct crank and jack for a 32 Chev. Also the dimensions of the crank would be helpful

Picture of the jacks is posted in the VCCA Member's Photos forum. I don't currently have the dimensions handy but can get them. The starting crank is 3/4" round rod bent into a crank shape with a 3/8" cross pin on the long leg and rotating sleeve on the other. With long leg perpendicular to floor the rotating sleeve end is 18 1/2" high. Reproductions of the starting crank are available. Jacks can sometimes be found in G&D ads or on Ebay auctions.

A project to publish the correct jacks for many years in the G&D has been revived recently. Look for them in future issues.

Another source for authentic Chevy tools I have found in the recent past is Hershey, PA at the October swap meet. It requires a personal visit (and the trip may be worth the effort on many levels). The greatest success I have had with my annual visit has been with small time vendors that deal in nothing else but Chevrolet supplied tools. They are not the easiest to find but they do offer exceptional genuine items at fair market prices.

I'll second that. I made my first visit to Hershey last fall, and there are a few of the Chev guys who have an extensive inventory. The guys over at the VCCA hospitality tent is a good first stop - they know who's there at the show, and might even know who might have exactly what you're looking for.
