Hello everyone,
I am getting ready to work on the head on my 29' and was wanting to know what was recommended to do to the valves. Does anyone have seats installed or do you run as is. How much play in the valve guides is acceptable? Also, which part supplier is best to use, I have seen some differences in price on valves and components so help would be appreciated, I don't want crap. Thats why I quit playing with Model T's! I would like any no-no's before I start dissassembling. Thanks!

The 1929 cylinder head does not need hardened valve seats since it is a low compression engine. Your car will run on unleaded gasoline just fine.

wink :)

There are some good parts houses advertised in the G&D: The Filling Station, Bow Tie Reproductions and Gary Wallace to name a few. My favorite is Lonny Ekstrand at Stanley's Parts in Fort Worth, Texas. You'll find him and others listed under 'Services
Offered By Memebers' in the G&D. ok
