looking for some help phone or picture help having to do with puting my 32 body back on the chassis in the right area
I got the car off of someone who massacured it and i am tying to save it. The car was charred when i got it. Im making some progress
I only got the body, hood, fenders, and runningboards from that man. I picked up a 32chevy chassis not sure if its really a 32 chevy chassis. I measured the wheel base to be some where around 107" was told that the 32 chassis had a 109" wheel base for all models is this true? My major need is to find out where the body sits on the frame. Now if i could figure out where any of the body parts mounts to the frame i would be set but i can't . The guy i got the body off of havd the 32 on a 1980 chevy frame. I have front fender brackets but im not sure if there original, i connected them to the fenders and they look like the only waythey mount to the frame is on top of the frame instead of on the side like my friends does on his 31 chevy.
how far up from the front of chassi do the brackets mount to ??
I didnt mean to have such a cocky member name, I have two projects well realy one 32 and a cowl hood and grille from a 31chevy I have do means to destroy this 32 chevy. I want to up grade the drive train while keeping the stock apperance. I am documenting my build for myself and guidance for others who find themselves in my shoes so criticise and questions Thank for any help

I see you are not a member of the VCCA, so this eliminates your access for technical help, however it appears you are not heading in an original/stock direction so you will not need it anyway. I see you have made several posts to this site, so you obviously know that the direction of this site is to return the vehicle back to original condition. I would suggest you search out other sites that cater more to the hot rod, street rod, or modified.

107" wheel base last used on the 1930 models; all 31-32 cars were on 109" wb.
34 & 35 trucks are the greatest. 36 high cabs are OK too.

Hey Ryan....don't give up on us just yet! We have a local region (#11) of the VCCA with most members from right here in Connecticut. If you might be persuaded to keep the car(s) original we have several members with 31's and 32's and we'd be real glad to offer assistance. Sorry, we may not have the expertise to help if you are rodding the car but we sure can help with 'original' questions. Let me know if we can help.

well im not looking to hotrod the car I want to keep the stock look and make it highway worthy. I have a straight 6 so far and a stick shift tranny for the car. I need help with i dentifying my chassis and things like where the body mounts to the chassis i upload pictures and document my project on a hotrod based site just because thats the only place i can do those two here a pict If there any other ways to tell if you chassis is from 1930 or the 1931-1932 besides the wheelbase? Was the rear axle center halfway of the leafspring on the 1932 ?

The easiest way to identify a 1932 chassis from a 1931 is that the 32 has an extra crossmember in the centre which is VERY "VEE Shaped" It is used to mount the rear of the gearbox to, as 1932 was the first year with a rear gearbox mount.
