Watch here for your response.
You are correct, there were no cars produced in March of 1942. Production ended in Feb.1942 and the late Dec. and beyond cars had painted chrome trim other than the bumpers.
What is the serial number?
The 1942 production began 9-5-41 and ended 2-6-42.

9 = assembled in Norwood
BG = Master Deluxe (note BG, was no BC)
H was not used in 1942. Would have been the number of the month assembled (10 for Oct. as an example). They went to the letter system in 1946. 7039 would be the production sequence number form Norwood.
In 1942 the serial number was under the floor mat next to the R.F. door opening. In 1946 was on the R.F. door hinge pillar.
Would the H you are seeing be an 11 ?

...yes...

If your car has any of the original side glass in the doors or windshield you can get a date from the LOF name etched in the lower corner of the glass. Will be in the lower, outer of the windshield, front lower corner of the door glass and quarter glass and rear lower corner of the front door vent glass. You will see the numbers like 8-41 or 9-41 in the botton of the etching. This represents the date the glass was made. The assembly date of the car will be one or two months later.
