Yes, Frontenac was a cylinder head developed in the early days of American racing. Here's a little history regarding Louis Chevrolet's relationship with "Fronty". If I recall correctly, the Fronty innovation was an overhead valve configuration used on the early Ford and Chevrolets.

Several years ago Ken Kaufman wrote a piece on Louis Chevrolet in connection with the aftermarket valve in head for a F0RD engine and it was in a G&D.

rarebit here's a picture of one on an engine. The best place to find them would be in a model "T" site.

Rearbit: I sent you a PM earlier today. It has information as to where you can buy a Frontenac Cylinder Head book by Chevrolet Brothers Mfg. Co. Printed in the 1920's. Any questions ; send me a PM.

According to my sources Louis C. made/sold enough Frontenac engine heads to T-F**ds during the 20ties that he made good business. When Henry shut down the production of T-s, Louis was forced to find other business.

Here is a related picture of a head:

and a leaflet from the Chevrolet Brothers:

Scroll down and you will find it.

Great pics!

Seems the Fronty Chevrolet Head must be very rare.
