hey big d
i`m not sure. but i think the numbers on plugs means the heat range. is 86 a hotter plug than an 87???? good question.
sorry i can`t help you out with one. i just tuned up my 30 with the 87`s.

I was just wondering because I could get the #87 locally for $3.00 and just now found the #86 on line for $2.00 so I ordered on line. THANKS

Has anyone used these: Set of 6 NOS Auto-lite BT6B SPARK PLUGS

I'm cautious of claims on eBay these days.

Up until a few years ago the AC-C86 plug was correct for 1929-32. Several years ago the AC-C86 plug was discontinued and it was replaced by the AC-C87 plug, which is also correct for the 1929-32 engines. It just has a different heat range.

wink :)

Some time ago I use a set of C86's in my Dad's 32 roadster, they were stamped G-9 on the base. So if that is ture and everyone knows the original 32 plug was G-10, then the C86 is a little colder. So I would think that a C87 would be better, hotter spark.
