Hi 29-30-31-32 Chevrolet experts.
I look me after a new start ring gear till my 1930 Sports Roadster, for this reason a difference on the diameter on ring gear and flywheel, from 1929 till 1932? They can all use? I've got a Chevrolet friend there to have 1929 ring gear.
I know that 1929 ring gear is little slim breadth, but i mean they have all 104 teethes and have same diameter boats interior and outside on the teeth and can be use on all 1929, 30, 31, 32 models.

The ring gear on the 1929 has 42 teeth and 11 teeth on the pinion gear(3.82:1 ratio), Chevrolet set p/n 361922. The 1930 & 1931 ring gear has 41 teeth and the pinion has 10 teeth (4.10:1 ratio), Chevrolet set p/n 362737. 1932 up had a 4.11;1 ratio (37-9 teeth).

34 & 35 trucks are the greatest. 36 high cabs are OK too.

35 pickup man, I think that he is talking about a fly wheel ring gear with 104 teeth.

Now that I look at it again I think your right, thanks for the correction. I have been rebuilding my truck differential and have my head up my rear end.
34 & 35 trucks are the greatest. 36 high cabs are OK too.

i had to acquire an new ring gear for the flywheel on our unrestored 29 convert landau. after receiving several ring gears purported to be correct(and finding they were either too small or too large to press on the original, unmolested flywheel) i did a google search for flywheel ring gears and came up with an outfit in australia who supplied a ring gear that fit. suggest you accuratly measure the OD of your flywheel and proceed with the search for a replacement. god luck, mike

These replacement flywheel ring gears did come with a couple different inside diameters and widths. I have a couple of them, but as previously suggested ,measure your flywheels diameter. first. bwbugay@aol.com

on my early cars they do not have replaceable starter ring gears and they are not listed in the parts book . i guess mine must have been molested ?

The ring gear and pinion gears are matched sets and were sold as a set. It would be advisable to replace both.
