Why would you want to replace the mechanical brakes? Properly adjusted with the stock 50hp they are wonderfully adequate and very original. I love mine and couldn't imagine replacing them.
Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. B.F.

Quite True, no need for better brakes, what you need is a much bigger bumper, like an eight inch by two inch piece of chrome steel rectangular tubing custom built into a front bumper, so when that young person whips around you on the freeway at 70 MPH into a 20' space behind an eighteen wheeler then brakes sharply with their 4 wheel power disc brakes you won't mess up that $900 honeycomb radiator and the $400 radiator shell and cut a donut hole out of that Hampton Coach $1500 mohair covered rebuilt front seat. :vcca:

If you're going to put a 440 V8 in a 1930 I hope you have some good nails holding the body on the wood frame.

If you have said that in first place we wouldnt be telling you to keep your stock brakes, the mechanical brakes and the whole body wont be able to handle the power if you dont reinforce the sheetmetal by changing some of the wood parts and the chassis to needs to be reinforced and I know the fillingstation.com sells a conversion kit but you should ask them and tell them what are you planning
