I am in Fountain Hills which is in the Scottsdale area on the NE side of the Phoenix metroplex. If you want to come up here for work I have several suggestions.
We have a very good body shop called Finishing Touch (480 8373355). I have not used them for my 41 but did use them for my 2007 when the guard-gate in our community decided to have a premature closure and did a tap dance on the fenders. They did a great job.
I use Liberty Auto Center (480 8371620) for all my auto work including my classic cars. The owner is very nice to work with and understands and likes older cars.
There is also an auto restoration shop that works on classic and antique cars as well as hot rods called Mods for Rods (480 8168003). I have not used them as I have not needed any body work.
I have some materials and resourses for pre-war Chev, however, my specifics (such as shop manual) are for my 1941. It would not be worth a special trip here for them, but you if are coming to the area I'd be glad to share. We are sunbirds and will leave the first part of May this year.
I would also suggest simply going back through the 1937 forum and reading the various topics. Usually they contain a lot of good resource information.
Closer to home there is a car dealer in Tucson that sells a lot of classic cars called Suburban Motors. It is on the north side of the Air Force base just across from the north gate. The man that owns it loves old cars. I don't think he does any repair work except on his own cars, however, he might be able to give you some information on local places that could help you. His name is: Spud Sperduti (520 7902979) or spud@suburbanmotors.tuccoxmail.com
Hope this is of some help.
