The radiator shell emblem is pressed in and it can removed by carefully tapping it out towards the front of the radiator shell with a round wooden dowel of the correct size. :)

What is the best way to re-install? I used 3m double faced molding tape on mine but am curious if its possible to install as original.

You can carefully press the emblem back in or gently tap it in using a rubber mallet with a soft cloth covering the emblem. :)

Here's an excerpt from my posting of the restoration of my '32 Coupe. (See "Rebirth of A '32 Coupe - Chapter One, under Projects in the Members Only Section).I took the grill and shell to my garage for some hand cleaning and polishing. I purchased a new Bowtie for the grill from the Filling Station. This caused a slight problem. The original emblem has a button-like circle on the back that simply presses into the grill. The new emblem has a stud, washer and nut on the back. The first clue that something was amiss was that the washer and nut were smaller than the hole in the grill shell. No big deal I added a fender washer and put it on. Now the real problem. When I put the newly refurbished radiator back in the shell, the stud on the back of the emblem hit on the radiator filler neck. I didn't notice it at the time and pushed the radiator in. That caused the emblem to push out and bend. When I picked the assembled unit up the emblem was pushed out about 1/8 inch, bent and scratching the shell. I quickly disassemble everything and assessed the damage. There was a slight scratch and outward dent in the shell. The new emblem was bent and the plating was peeling off the back. I shot off an email to Steve Kassis at the Filling Station explaining my dilemma and expressing my displeasure. Steve replied the next day explaining that all the emblem were made with a stud on the back and that he had sold 40 or 50 with no complaints. My only options were to reinstall my original emblem or get another new one and grind the stud off. Steve shipped me another new emblem gratis and I did just that. Look at the picture (below link) you'll see the back of the original emblem, the first new emblem and the installed second emblem which has the stud cut off with my Dremel. That's the cut off portion to the right of the stud and nut. The stud was still so close to the radiator neck that I inserted a piece of jut insulation between them to prevent it from rubbing a hole. After reading your post I am glad I used the 3m double sided moulding tape. The stud can be eliminated altogether and the emblem attached to one side of the tape while the backing is left on the other. Then carefully trim the tape flush to the emblem and its ready to be installed. This process I learned from a co-worker who was reapplying emblems on has Camaro Z-28.
