How far up, year wise, will a clutch disc work in a '29? '38, '41, etc.? TIA, Bob

send your old disc to Fort Wayne Clutch 1-800 2588243. quality work at reasonable price. i've been running their remanufactured clutch and pressure plate in a 57 vette with a dyno-confirmed 450 HP sbc for better than 15 years, 1/4 mile at a time as well as cross country trips.mike

Back Roads,

I've checked into Vega clutch disc's, but the ones I've found have a different number of splines on them compared to the '29.
Doesn't the '31 have the same number of splines as a '29: 10?
The Vega disc I saw listed showed 14 splines.

Mike,

I'm swapping PM's with "CJP's 29" concerning machining my flywheel for a later Chevy spring type disc.

Thanks guys, any and all help is much appreciated. Bob wink

Another source for a clutch disc. One time on an AACA Glidden Tour a friend with a 29 Packard lost his clutch. He went to a shop that repaired lift trucks. Matched his old disc with a new one and was back on the road the next day.
