My '47 Sport Coupe has the steering wheel radio control (option #985986 I think). Before I got the car, someone stripped the car of a few random parts...including the radio. The column mounted control seems to be in good shape....the wiring is intact(at least they didn't damage the connectors when they got the radio), and the knob seems to work properly. Will this control work on any radio from around the same year?

Hi,

The 46-48 radio is a special radio and requires the proper box and control unit. The Model # is: 985986.

I know a source for the radio box if you find you need one.

Thanks for the info. I've decided that my car's a little too far gone for me to restore (it's really kind of a basket case)...probably just going to strip the more valuable parts from the car and make a rod out of it. If anyone needs the column mounted radio control, pull-down bumper guard, bumper wings or anything else...make me an offer.
Thanks again.
