After further inspection, I noticed that the dash and interior paint is in 3 colors. Dark metallic gray dash and window frames, lighter gray glove box and around gauges, and a darker gray on steering column and turn signals. Is this correct?

Yes, the two darker grays are supposed to match but the dash, etc. is painted with a lacquer and the steering column a more-or-less non-metallic enamel. Thats the way they were.
