What is the purpose of this 1954 accessory:

windshield washer coordinator unit

Hey Mike,

I presume it makes the squirter squirt. I guess "coordinate," is the fancy way to say that. But I wouldn't bet more than a quarter on my idea about it. I guess we can both watch and see what somebody who really knows has to say...

At that time it was necessary to start the wipers and then press the washer button. The coordinator automatically started the wipers when the washer button was pressed. Some thing we take for granit today. Very few were sold.

I always felt that the original washers would scratch glass due to the fact that the wipers had to be on before the washers would squirt. I did kind of like the ones with the little round rubber ball pump mounted just above the dimmer switch. talk talk talk
