A little help here would be appreciated.

Finally got a Klaxon horn and found the mounting bracket too. But I don't know exactly how they go together.

Looks like the curved piece of the mounting obviously mounts to the horn. Do I use the screws that hold the horn together to mount it to the bracket.

Second question. Does the part of the mounting that mounts to the frame go under the horn, or point back towards the steering box?

What size bolts to connect the bracket to the frame.

Just a few steps away from removing my monkey wards trumpet horn, but I may as well get it right.

The bracket is mounted to the horn with the screws that are on the horn flange.

When mounted to the frame rail the bracket faces back towards the firewall.

For the type of bolts used to attach the horn bracket to the frame rail, the bolt sizes are listed in your parts book so always check there first. Anyway, the bolts are 5/16-24 x 3/4".

wink :)

Just as a footnote to JYD's response, in my two horns the screws which attach the bracket to the horn itself were about 1/4" longer than the rest of the screws around the flange of the horn. Don't know if that's original, but that's how mine were.

All the Best,

Chip

Yep, the screws on the horn that hold the bracket in place are longer than the rest of the screws.....and double nuts on each screw are used as well. One of the nuts on each screw acts as a spacer for the bracket.

How about a follow-up on the horn issue by someone posting a good photo of the mounting bracket, maybe even an in-place one or two? That would help a lot. Horns some of us have got, but brackets not. Thanks.
