Hello fellow car guys.
I own a 1934 Master Town Sedan with 28,884 actual miles on it.
There is an old Genuine Chevrolet Service sticker on the door which reads 24,402 miled on it!
I have owned this car since 2001, but recently want to post the actual car history when going to car shows.
A significant family event must have occurred which resulted in this car sitting for many years, even decades before possibly being sold an estate sale.
Is there a way to get information without dealing with the unhelpfull Bureau of Motor Vehicles?
All I know is that the car was built in Tarrytown, NY and was sent to Ohio with a non-Ohio title from Marshfield, MA.
Car was sold to local antique car dealer here and bought by an older gentleman who retained it for about five years. He sold it to me in Spring of 2001.
This may well be only a four owner car!

The "Genuine Chevrolet Stickers" were reproduced about 20 years ago. I have enver seen where they were used by dealers back in the '30's and '40's.
If possible I would say a title search would be the place to start with your quest. Sounds like it would have been my dream car when I was looking for a 1934 Master back in 1970. When I was looking for a 1934 back then I found such a car for sale in Michigan but it was about $2000 dollars which was more than my budget allowed back then. Instead I bought one for $400 and invented another ton of money in it. Was the car ever registered in Michigan?
After WWII it was not unusual to find those nice pre war low milage cars but most just got used up after that with no thought of them being a collector item. My '34 had only 45,000 one owner miles on it when I found it in 1970.

I requested a title search through the Massachusetts Bureau of Motor Vehicles. Could only get information dating back to 1994.
They said that if a title becomes inactive for a period of over ten years that it drops off of the system.
That is the situation I am trying to get around.
Also the privacy of information may be involved here as well.
