I have a new chrome dome light frame (w/ plastic cover) for my '41 Master Deluxe Coupe.
The light "bucket" is 2 1/4" x 4", but the new frame is 1 7/8" x 3 11/16" on the inside and 2 7/8" x 5 1/8" on the outside.
I have researched this item (I got it from Chevs of the 40's),and I am told that it should fit. Help. What am I doing wrong??? Thanks,

Dan.

Sounds as if you are doing nothing wrong. Chevs of the 40's is giving you the wrong frame (rim). The 1941-42 Master DeLuxe and the 1946-48 Style master has the more retangulad dome light. The Special DeLuxe, Fleetmaster, Fleetline of those years has the longer and more narrow lens and rim. It is also pointed on one end. Is the one they sold you pointed on one end?

Gene knows, Here's a listing on ebay, it shows the correct Dome Light for a Special Deluxe: 1941 - 1948 CHEVROLET DELUXE CHROME DOME LIGHT BEZEL
Item number: 280198088737

Take a look.

Good Luck,

Gene: Thanks for the reply. No. My lense frame is a rectangle, and the dimensions are 2 7/8" x 5 1/8 ". It is not pointed on one end. Thanks,

Mike: Thanks for the help. I checked e-bay, and that is the "Super Deluxe" dome light frame with the pointed end.
I have a "Master Deluxe" that is rectangle. I will keep looking. Thanks, again,

Dan.
