Since Chevrolet did not make a pickup bed for 1930. You can make anything you want for a body. Many independent body builders did make a pickup box for the Chevrolet Chassis such as Martin-Perry, Hercules, Cantrell, Mifflinburg Body Co. just to name a few. No One that I am aware of makes a kit for your truck. Try to find some pictures of a pickup box from one of the body builders and copy it or just make your own as many buyers did in those days. I have some pictures of a telephone truck that the body would probably be easy to make.

34 & 35 trucks are the greatest. 36 high cabs are OK too.

Chevrolet did not supply pickup boxes until possibly very late in 1930 model year production. For sure in 1931. The trucks were assembled without a bed or box. The dealer or customer installed a box. The Martin Parry box has been reproduced and is available. Unfortunately it has the '32-33 tail gate and not the earlier version. It looks the same to most people and only a few would know the difference. Otherwise a box can be made from anything available.

Chipper,

Can you tell me where I can find a Martin Parry repro box? This truck is not for show but I don't want it to look like a street rod.

Thanks. Art

The standard answer for most replacement and reproduction parts is the Filling Station. It is also the answer to this question. They have an online catalog on www.fillingstation.com or you can order a paper one.

The other answer is to put a "Wanted" ad on this site or other internet sites. There are some good used parts that are out there. The problem is to get the "haves" and "have nots" together.

I don't know if this will help but try www.mackhils.com . I have their catalog and the stuff looks nice. Prices are fair considering.

Jim,
Thanks for the reply.
I talked to Mack Hils a year ago and again last month and they tell me they "lost the dies for the '30 bedsides." They don't know when ,if ever ,they will be making those bedsides again. They are also the supplier for the Filling Station. That's why I was hoping someone might know of another company that made kits of that type.
