Years ago at Hersh my dad bought a water pump for model A . It had a mechanical seal that was installed and held in by the packing nut.Has anyone ever tried to convert, or is there a conversion kit that can be purchased.

Jack,
I've seen a 32 water pump with a mechanical seal in it. Seemed like a lot of work to go through when a properly maintained and packed water pump will give you miles of trouble free service. Just my opinion.

It is much harder to convert a Chevrolet water pump than a
Model A pump. I've had both cars and wouldn't go to the work of converting a Chevrolet pump. A Model A pump can be done in 30 minutes.
