Another thing to consider is the insurance company might at their option be able to pay less than the "agreed" upon value. Generally the value is the "fair market" value as determined by actual sales, auction sales or apprasials by recognized appraisers. If the policy exceeds that value then the insurance can claim possible fraud and refuse to pay any more. So read the policy carefully and understand what happens if the insurance company disagrees with the value. Also understand if you have the option of keeping the vehicle and taking the amount (or a lessor amount because of "salvage value") of the policy.

Fortunately because of the internet the actions of insurance companies are much more apt to pay attention to treating customers fairly. Caveat Emptor!

Oscar me to. Hagerty was easy.

In ALL fairness AAA {Cal.} is a great co, with outstanding services and wonderful people. I've had 3 claims in the past 12+ years. Always handled very promptly, politely and fairly. Daughter's car was stolen twice and I hit a lamp pole. And, No,
I will NOT tell you about my accident.

For me, Hagerty's was "No more than & No Less than" agreed upon Value {price}. Then each year I was with them, I increased the Agreed value a bit, to keep up with inflation. Only costs a couple of bucks to increase value a lot!!

Looking forward to seeing your truck & Sal's car. See you in May.

It can't be any worse than backing into a pile of stacked firewood. (Sorry everyone.....private joke) blush wink bigl

(Hagerty paid to fix the fender, but not the firewood)

Ok. Ok. It is however worse than a pile of firewood.

About 2 years ago I was attempting to exit a parking lot on a HOT beach day. Now living at the beach for years I'm very use to the summer "scenery" or as my daughter calls it, "Eye Candy" that parades along the side walks scantily clad... cool

Any way, I was "distracted by the scenery" and BAM!! hit a lamp post in the parking lot, head on. $2600.00 worth of BAM!! sick

I didn't want to lie so I told the adjuster I did not see it, which was the truth. talk

However the biggest challenge, I was with someone......and she told me; Oh, you can fill in her comments. stressed

So watch the drive way, not the "scenery"
