All 1937 1/2 ton truck engines began with K. This identified it as a 1/2 ton truck engine. The flllowing numbers were just production sequence numbers for a 1937 engines. They ran from 1 up to 1187821. That is the only info. that can be determined from the engine number. Can you find the serial number? Should be on a plate on the firewall.

Note that the 1937 engine number is stamped into a little raised pad next to the fuel pump. From 1938 and up it is on a ledge behind the distributor just below the push rod cover.

You have a St. Louis built (3) 1/2 ton (GC) built in Nov. 1936 (11) and is the 1647 truck (build starts with 1001.

34 & 35 trucks are the greatest. 36 high cabs are OK too.

The 3 indiactes that it was assembled in St.Louis....so its a "transplant"....California vehicles were made in Oakland.
The G = 1937
The C = 1/2 ton
The 11 = it was assembled in Nov. of 1936,
2647 is the production sequence number for a 1/2 ton. Low number would indiacte and early vehicle as indiacted by the 11-36 assembly date.Production began in Nov.

Can't help on the number search.
