I am planning on rebuilding a 47 216 engine and would like to resurface the rods to accept new bearings. Has anyone used EGGE in San Se Springs California for machine work?
Thanks,
Perol

Howdy I do not have any experience with the firm in Santa Fe Springs.
But these contacts may help you a bit. Send an email to Art, {rustyarts@verizon.net} He lives in So. Cal. and knows a lot of folks. And he may be able to help you.
Write or call: Partick's in Phoenix, Arizona 520 836-1117 They do a lot of eng. work on 6 cyl. & sell parts, and they know there stuff.
Write/Call/email: the VCCA Tech person for 1941-48 Chevy engines. You'll find the numbers in G&D.
Best of luck, Michael41

Chevs of the '40's have rods machiened for inserts in their catalog. There is a chance that they are from Egge. Check with local aotomotive engine rebuilders. Some have the equipment necessary for making the conversion or can get rods already converted.

Yesterday Patrick's sent me a note and they said they use the shop you are considering in Santa Fe Springs and like them.
So I would consider that a recommendation. Enjoy, Michael41
