Dear Santa,
There's a real nice pair of fender skirts on Ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=18018979725) that would look pretty good on my car. I've been real good this year, so I was hoping maybe, well, you know, if you could...

Oh, never mind. The price is out of sight and there's still 5 1/2 days to go and it's gonna go higher, and besides they would look better on a Coupe instead of a Coach, so thanks any way.

Have a nice Christmas, Santa!

The fenders have disappeared from eBay already, so you have to be a good boy the whole next year to get a new chance with Santa. parking dance

They are still on Ebay...will be for another 5 days. Looks like the first link was wrong. Try this one:

It may be possible you have to be a double Agrin newangel for some more years to get those from Santa this year. Price will still be even higher, I am afraid.

I took a look at those and for what it's worth I think they would look terrible on my car. Bob

I remember some '35 models from back in the fifties. They wore skirts, sweathers, bobbie soxs, & tennies. They looked pretty sharp.

You're right, Solan! There are a couple of people who really really really want those skirts! Too rich for me!

We (jokingly) have an unwritten pact among a few car friends, that when one of us dies the others are obligated to part out the deceased's cars. The parts are probably worth more than the complete vehicle!

Looks like someone just got themselves a very expensive Christmas present. These skirts went for big bucks!:

Winning bid: US $2,425.00

They were nice, but I can't imagine they were that nice!

Orig. 35 skirts with the orig. moulding on them, really are very scarce. But $2400.00?? There closing in on the compass prices now. I agree though. The accessorys for these cars are becoming more valuable then the cars there in.

A good metalsmith should be able to fabricate the pair of skirts, including the decorative trim for about $1200.00

Barry, you might be right. The 'easy' part would be the sheet metal, but the really tough part would be making the stainless trim. It has several different radius and tapers.
