When I removed the fuel line between fuel pump and carburetor on my '30, there was a clip on it with a hole for a 5/16" bolt, but it wasn't attached to anything. I assume this attaches somewhere at the front of the engine to support the gas line where it passes under the water pump. But exactly where should it attach -- on one of the bolts for the timing gear cover? (If so, which one?) Or somewhere else?

Thanks for any help.

All the Best,

Chip.

There is no clip on the '30 fuel pump to carb line. There is a support on the '32 and later pump to carb fuel line with downdraft carb as the line is longer and with more bends also more flexible.

Hey Chip, is there a chance you could be working on the oil pressure line instead of the fuel line? The oil line from the engine to the gauge has a small bracket.I think the oil line is 1/4" and the fuel line is 3/8".Hope this helps,Stan

I think Chipper has hit on the right answer. This car had a Carter W-1 downdraft carb and manifold on it when I bought it... and I assume the gas line came with the carb when the old updraft was changed out. Since I'm of course going back to the old RJH-08, I guess we can call the clip "excess to requirements".

Now I have an extremely valuable fuel supply line anti-vibration mounting device (very rare) for my collection. I may be willing to part with it for big $$$$$, but I think I'll keep it.

Thanks for solving the mystery Mr. Sweet!

All the Best, Chip.
