With all three main bearings tightened and all six connecting rods attached to the crankshaft, pistons in their bores with no spark plugs in place, camshaft, lifters, push rods and valve train installed, all oiled, what sort of resistance to turning should I experience on an engine stand with no other engine accessories installed?

(all connecting rods are adjusted to a "snap fit" and main bearings to .001 clearance)

I have never measured the pounds needed to turn a rebuild engine over by hand but my best guess is somewhere around 50 to 75 pounds. I use a 24 inch bar with a socket most of the time.

I agree with Eldeeb, I like to be able to turn it by hand with the harmonic ballancer although the later graphite rope type seals can make that not possible.

I would agree with the above. Will take considerable force.
Of corse there is no rope seal on a 1932.
