I am not sure where to put this topic, but I was given a Champion Spark Plug Scope. It is supposed to show all the plugs firing on the screen. This one shows only one long line. Does anyone know if the scopes are still being worked on and by whom?
Thanks,
Richard

If I am reading your description right my guess is that all firings are there but arranged 1 after the previous. The big spike is the coil output (spark at the plug) then the lower spikes indicate condensor action, points close, points open then coil output again.

If my questionable memory serves me right the straight line is a indication of no signal. The pick up might be defective or not connected correctly or the gain needs to be turned up. You might check with a local snap-on or mac tool guy they might know of a good electronic repair shop close to you.

Well, thanks for all the suggestions. It appears that an electronic repair shop is a thing of the past. I contacted two Snap-On distributors and was told by one that" he didn't think that Snap-On was making Champion products anymore, but could check" and another that" Champion Spark plug products were made by Sears" Hmmm!!

Richard,

I'd wager good money there's several guys right here in CC who could tell in a minute or two what's up with your gifted scope.

Of course the rub is they'd probably need to have it on their bench to do so. :(

Bill.

I would be glad to send it to them if they could help fix it.
