I have a 2 door Canadian sedan, 1929, I keep seeing, sites
that state Chev made 2 door "coaches" as well, but
I fail to see the difference, and I notice
a lot of owners state their as being a 2 door sedan coach
So what is the difference between the two models?

It's all in the wording. Chevrolet refered to a 2 door sedan as a "coach". The name "Sedan" in the Chevrolet world refered to a 4 door sedan. One of the big confussions is people refer to 31 32 5 pass coupes as Vickies. Of course they're used to the OTHER brand..Joe

Sedan is a 4 door and a Coach is a 2 door, both with closed bodys and roll up windows, a front seat and a rear seat.
Actually a coach is what we now call aa two door sedan (with two doors and folding backs for the front seats.

Welcome to Chevy Chatter II!

A 1929 "Coach" has two front bucket seats. A 1929 "Sedan" has a front bench seat.

wink :)

.....unless it's my '29 Coach, which currently has an old milk crate with a burlap bag over it as the driver's seat!! :vcca:

I think we MAY have to change that during the restoration.

....and we thought JYD knew all the possible seating arrangements!

All the Best, Chip.

Much cheaper to let the present arrangement stay. Use the money saved for safety belts!

Quite true JYD, and so does a 1928 coach (have two single passanger seats with either a folding back or the entire seat folds forward in the front of the cabin, for entry into the rear seat.... and my 53 "Coach" has a bench front seat with 2 folding seat backs!
When did Chevrolet quit using the word "Coach" for a 2 door sedan and start calling a 2 door sedan a 2 door Sedan?

Now when someone says they have a Coach they either mean someone to supervise a sports team or a big bus or a motorhome built on a bus chassis.
