Hi Everyone,
New member from Sydney Australia.
I have just accquired a 38 Chev Businessman's Coupe and absolutely love it.
Have sourced a genuine 38 Radio and NOS Head for it. Having problems with finding an original Dash bezel for it. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Regards
Paul

Hi Aussie 38 Coupe; Just want to welcome you to chevy chatter. Sorry I don't have any info on the parts that you want, but somebody here might. This is a great site for info in general about these old cars.

Thanks for the welcome eldeed and tonyw.
Tony, go past you regularly on the way to Canberra.
I missed a bezel on ebay the other day because the seller would not sell out of the USA. I can understand that, but it adds to the frustration.
Next project is a 38 Banjo steering wheel and hope to get some advice from here on where to source one other than on ebay.

This is a terrific site for the depth of knowledge and advice that is available. All those involved need to be highly commended.

I also use a Yahoo.Shopsmith site for woodworking machines and it has a similar depth of knowledge. Shows the difference between populations of 20 million as against nearly 300 million.

Paul

Welcome to the VCCA Chatsite. We are a great group of nice people and a couple of grumps. I suggest you begin to set up a network of Aussies who have contacts in the US. Then you can set up one or more US people who will accept packages and forward to the US or ship to the freight forwarders to load in containers going to Kangarooville.

Maybe you can use his address to purchase items that sellers will not send directly to Aussieland. Most all Texans are great guys if you ask me or even if you don't ask.

Jim,
Thank you for that piece of wisdom. I am just about to join the VVC in Australia so I will follow him up.
When I registered the car in NSW they let it slip that it had been registered in NSW previously. And yes, I did buy it from a Victorian(mexican) but he wasn't all that forthcoming with info. All he wanted to tell me was that if I didn't buy it then he was going to rod it.
So I am proud to say that that I at least saved it from a fate worse than death.
Regards
Paul

Hello Paul,
As ozjim said,it is,and looks like from the picture,Rob Tylers
1938 Business Coupe.I saw it on many occassions,as Rob lives at Bulli, and I live at Dapto, about a 1/2 drive south. The car goes really well(having driven it several times),and if you would like I could put you onto Rob,when he comes back from QLD.
I believe he may have some spares still at home for the '38,which would come in real handy for you.You can email me at:
wizardsmith278@optusnet.com.au

and I'll se what I can do to arrange a meeting with him for you.

Cheers,
Kevin. :) chevy

Hello & Welcome to Chevychat and soon, VCCA.

You find that this is a Great club w/ interesting & helpful people.

I am not sure where John lives in Australia, but here's his email address. John's a fun guy, who I met when we both attended the 2006 VCCA Anniversary event in Colorado.

Upon returning to Los Angeles John and a friend, both VCCA members were guests ay my region's meeting.

So look John up. He is a cool guy, a Chevy lover and he might be able to point you in the direction of help, parts & services.

Best of luck and THANKS for joining VCCA.

Kevin,
Sorry for not replying earlier. I am off again to Western Australia on Friday and have some free time on Saturday when I will send you an email. Love to meet up with Rob if that can be arranged at some time. I have a daughter and a son living in Wollongong so it can be a dual purpose visit.
Thanks again for the contact.
Regards
Paul

Michael,
Thanks for the welcome.
Happy to contact John, but you will have to send the email address as a pm. I think it has been edited out.
Regards
Paul
