While you can get a lot of information for free in this forum, sometimes the info that you REALLY need is only available from the right person. I also hope for a soon solution as to payment online, and renewing the membership same fast and convenient way. Some suggestions have been sent to the BOD, and may be they will help in the decision and making it possible to happen in the next months to come.

Please keep in mind there's a number (of "dinosaurs") in here who do NOT want on-line renewal. Whether they have the capability or not.
It's fine if on-line renewal is an OPTION. If it's the ONLY way, many who do not have a computer or do not want to share bank numbers, credit/debit card numbers with the whole world likely will NOT renew. It might only be 25-50 percent, but some will want the current way to be an option.

Yes, it is being worked on as an OPTION only. It would be significantly beneficial to our international members.
But - important to point out - I'm pretty sure we don't have to worry about sharing bank accounts or credit card numbers with the whole world!

Actually your personal information will be more secure with the VCCA than any other organization or you personally. That includes your credit card numbers. The VCCA has, does and will always do what they can to protect the identity of members. The officers and elected officials don't want to compromise their or members information. So rest assured when you sign in to the https: site that it will be as safe as possible.

Of course I agree to the online payment as an option and not as the only way to pay the fee. But if you pay by a secure page starting with https, (not http) you will have no security problems and should not be afraid of sharing any information with anybody else in the whole world. Be sure, as this is for sure! There are more than 100.000 auctions ending on eBay each 24/7, and I think the majority of buyers are using PayPal, with no reason to fear for leaving their sensitive bank information in wrong hands. And as an International member I certainly will have no doubt to pay online when the system is ready for it.

I think that our club deserves to be praised for the way they handle our membership's information. That concern has probably been a factor in the club lagging behind the national trend of collecting information and selling it or shareing it with the general marketing industry. I applaud our BOD for those concerns, and want assurance myself that our proposed Membership Database information is kept secure for use only within our VCCA. I am not in favor of shareing this data outside of VCCA or selling the data.
