Do you have Verlan Husman's phone number or email address? I have noticed that at a tour this year (maybe the National 4 cylinder Tour) Verlan was carrying around a head and valve train he has put together with some modern parts. I don't know if he is a member of this site or not. He is also the guy that has modified a modern throwout bearing to fit the four cylinders. He is listed in the 2006 Membership Roster as being in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. He probably has a handle on the specs. you want.

Hi Mr Mack & Don,
Thanks for your information and help, much appreciated.
Mr MAck,Verlyn was just out here for our latest Chev 4 Tour, and he showed us the 4 cyl clutch throwout bearing conversion. It was an interesting bit of work, and he had lots of very interested 4
bager owners looking over his handywork.

Don,thanks for the tech info you provided on the valves & springs.I would still like to know the free length(unassembled to to head & valve)of the spring.I have the chance to get some made, and this is why I'm trying to get as much information as possible.

Hi

I don't have one handy right now but I know you can buy them from Kanter Auto products in Boonton New Jersey 07005 - www.kanter.com. They use to be around $60.00 US per set. Egge obsolete auto parts 11707 Siauson Ave Sante Fe Springs CA 90670 or The Filling Station 990 South Second St Lebanon OR 97355 www.fillingstation.com I would try The filling Station first I deal with them mostly and have nothing but good luck with them. They will probably give you this info over the phone. I have their catalogue here but it doesn't list the springs but I think they do have them or could advise you.

Good luck
