if your engine runs when you add gas to the accelerator pump , then , maybe you have a fuel delivery problem . Can you check the fuel pump for flow?

Check for a vacuum leak on the manifold and the wiper hose, also vacuumn advance if there is one.

If the engine runs with gas added to the accelerator pump then carburetor or fuel delivery is likely the problem. Do you get fuel flow at the carburetor with the line taken off the carburetor? Put a hose on the line and put the open end into a container. Push the starter button for a short time. Check the container for fuel. If no fuel or only very small amount then check the fuel pump diaphram and valves. Modern fuel mixes can quickly destroy the diaphram.
If you have fuel flow to the carburetor then the problem is in the carburetor. With fuel in the float bowl then the accelerator pump should pump fuel into the carburetor throat and the engine should run. [You can add fuel to the carburetor by carefully pouring into the intake. It will slowly drain into the bowl.] If no fuel pumped then the valves or passages may be blocked so you will need to clean the carburetor. It may be necessary to open some passages with a fine wire. Take care as the wire can change the opening size and hurt the performance. If cleaning will not solve your problem you might need to send the carb to someone who understands it better. There are three people in the VCCA (USA) who are qualified to rebuild the carburetor. Good luck. Let us know what you find.

I was resore the car now for many years.....i was assured that everything is now ok on the carb. in the fuel pump glas bowl i see the gasoline and wen i was also open the carb. bowl there was also som gasoline in the bowl also the fuel gaue show me some fuel. Now it comes......smile wen i was open the gasoline pipe after the fuelpump and start the engine there comes no fuel...so i check the membran and the tow littel valve on the fuelpump there are also ok smile it was strange then on the last think i was to check up the level from the tank.....there was the desert no fuel!!!!!! so the little last gasoline was in the bowl and some little in the gasoline pipe but now the engine runs very well after i put some gasoline in the tank....big smile

Ah, the integrity of the Swiss, this must be why people trust them with those numbered bank accounts. I wonder if he was thinking of making up a fantastic story and wonderful fix? Gary

A Swiss bank account, should I move my overdraft to Switzerland? Something to think about. Gary
