What size are the threads on the shaft the pulley goes on? I dropped the alternator on the threaded end and need to dress the end to put the nut back on,it does not seem to be a standard thread. Thie is on my 63 impala

I dont know the thread size but if you have a set of jewelers files work from the good side to the end that will work. the knife and triangle files work best.

Its a 5/8"-20 thread....If it is damaged just at the end I usually file off the damaged threads as the nut goes past that area when tight.
