Anyone ever do business with KC Wood? Just wondering about their accuracy and shipping.

He is a member here and from what I have read and heard from him and others over the years here on Chatter he does a great job for people who want 'original' wood. I have not purchased any wood from him myself.

You can read all of his postings here on Chatter if you do a search.

Good luck.

Quality workmanship, friendly communications and prompt shipping was what I got from KC Wood.

When I purchased my Superior K sedan there were no slats on the roof. Most of the bows were there, but only one was worth using for a pattern. I sent it along with the measurements for the rest of the bows to KC Wood and Steve made me a set. I guessed on the slat length and added some. He even sent me an extra bow and an extra slat. I have installed the bows and am ready to put on the slats, but here lies the quandary. Where I'm assuming the slat ends terminate is a groove that is 1/16 inch deep that matches the groove along the sides and appears to be just thick enough for the first layer of material that rests on the assembly before the padding is installed. The slats are 1/4 inch thick and it seems like the ends of the slats would protrude enough to be seen under the padding and top material, if they set on this groove. Maybe the slats are installed after this first layer of material is attached? I talked to a guy that replaced the wood on a coach and he said his wood kit was cut for the thickness of the slats. So, do I cut the groove deeper, or taper the ends of the slats? I hate to start modifying and would like to get it right. Any Ideas?

Roger
