I have a '34 5 window. On the top of the gas tank apron and along the top of the running board aprons there are some rivets. What did they hold?

Thanks, Pat

Pat,
I believe there would be beaded welting between the apron and body at this location. It may have been riveted to the apron to hold it in place.

Thanks Mike,

That's what I suspected. However would that weltimg have a larger bead than the one between the fenders and the body? As well, would there be a similar welting between the running board apron (splash guard) and the bottom of the rocker panels?

Pat
