Could anyone provide a "Decode"ation for this number? #3862194 Chevy 283 - apparently a Chevy II or Pontiac Acadian? Thanks for the help, eh!

The forward location of the sump on the oil pan and dip stick will confirm that its for a Chevy II / Acadian.

Thomas,
The casting number is for a 1963-67 Chevy II 283 engine. This is from my 1975 Chevrolet U.S. parts book. I didn't think it would be in the 1975 book. Should have looked sooner.
