As most of you international members know, we have been trying various delivery methods for the G&D since May.

We are almost ready to make more permanent arrangements with the current service (Riggs International); but we thought we might ask some of you in Australia, Canada, Europe and elsewhere - would you please let us know what day you receive your G&D for September and October. That way, we can have some direct feedback on how this service is performing for you.

Thanks!

Don
I realize in this thread you asked about the September and October issues but my August issue arrived here in Aus today (Sept 13th). The comparison July arrived on the July 2nd, I think before some or all of the US members.

Thanks Don for the chance to be envolved. My August G&D arrived yesterday the 13th September I have rang a couple of other Australian members and one arrived on the 12 and the other the same as me . ( far better than the three months from the original postage) and as tony mentioned above that July was super fast in under a week from the US but at a higher cost This seems to work well ,and I will return to notify you of the September issue when it arrives . Many thanks again for your efforts Jim Hatton 20372#

Don, just as a comparison. We got the September issue of the G & D here on September 11, about par for the course here in the Central Texas boonies.

Thanks, all, for your replies! The more information like this we can get, the better we can map out what results we are truly getting.

We would also like to hear from some of you in Canada. How was your August delivery, and do you have your September yet?

Many thanks.

Sorry for not mentioning the brilliant service from the webmaster and the editors of G&D. Thanks for the best solution of "spreading the news = ads" in years to all members whereever they are!!!!!! luv2

As Bill Barker said the ads arrived on the 1st but the printed version arrived 27th here in Goulburn. Jim's mailman must be a slow reader but not as slow as me, I still have 4 or 5 issues to read which is likely to happen while I travel north for my daughters wedding.

I got the next (2008) "membership bill" from the secretary today.

Only USD 20,- extra, instead of 75 - 80 by using the 1st class air mail from USMail. Not necessary when we have the excellent BBB-ads'service on the chat.

Excellent work from the board (and others?) to get this low extra cost, and still a much faster delivery than last year.

Some International members may not agree, as the fee really has gone up 50%, from 40 to 60. Yes, you are correct, but still a remarkable good job has been done to secure the lowest possible fee and a fully acceptable transport time for G&D's all over the world.

Thanks soooooooo much. This was a real relief both for renewing and possible new members of VCCA.

yay yay yayHurrayyyyyyy! yay yay yay

Thanks, Ehrling. This was a lot of work to make happen. Very glad to hear you think it is an acceptable result.

I have not recieved my subcription bill yet (not due till the new year) but if Solan's figure is the same for me it is acceptable.
The delivery time is definitely faster than last year.

My October G & D arrived today October 30and my annual subs bill arrived last week although it isnt due until Jan. I guess management decided to send the international notices early so they could be processed in appropriate time.

The membership secretary or someone in the system sending reminders of next year's due normally is been very early, 2 to 3 months ahead of the expire date. Some of our members here do not approve this "very early" practice, as it feels too pushy.

And the reason: As new members they got the membership card, and then(earlier) got the first G&D very late (2 -3 months)after paying, then late deliveries and then the next due was urged upon very early.

The situation has calmed down, but still the reminders are coming far too early. It should be possible soon to send such messages by email (confirm receipt) a fortnight before expire date to members having an email adress. Saving postage, time, some frustration and member still be able to pay within the date. Try to sort this out and make it possible to pay the due through PayPal(preferably) or similar service using some minutes after the reminder has appeared on the PC. bigl

The G&D has really been faster the latest months. Thanks!
